Christians During Ramadan

Many Christians aren't sure what to do when a holiday like Ramadan comes around. Many people (including Christians) in Delhi stay away from areas with high concentrations of Muslims. Please pray for Delhi Christians to be bold during this time.

36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Matthew 22:36-40

Please pray that Christians in Delhi will love their Muslim friends and Neighbors as they would themselves. Pray that Christians would love their neighbors so much that they would ignore any fears they have and share Jesus with their Muslim friends and neighbors.

Praying Through Ramadan

Please continue to pray for Muslims during this month of Ramadan. Please pray that the Christians of Delhi would be bold in sharing their faith with their Muslim neighbors, friends and people they meet. Pray that they will be wise in what they say and share out of love. Please pray that those Muslims will open their hearts and mind to the things that are being shared with them. Pray that their lives are changed!

2"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
Colossians 4:2-6

Ramadan

Ramadan is currently going on. This is the Islamic month of fasting. Muslims that are participating in this holiday will fast from sunrise to sunset. During this holiday, Muslims tend to pray more than usual. Please pray for the Muslims of Delhi during this time. Pray that they will have dreams and visions that will lead them to Jesus. Pray for the Christians of Delhi to be bold in sharing their faith with their Muslim friends during this time of heightened spirituality.

Kanwar Yatra

The last two weeks, certain roads in India have been full of thousands of watercarrying, orange-clad kanwarias, devotees of Shiva. Kanwarias, as they're popularly called, carry holy water (kanwar) from the Ganges River (the Ganga) from Neelkanth, Gomukh or Haridwar to be poured on the Shivlinga in their hometown on the occasion of Shivratri. This journey is done on foot, and when completed, it is supposed to fulfill their wishes and endear them to Lord Shiva.

The gangajal (water of the Ganga) is poured over Shivlingas - a process known as Jalabhishek.  The main day that they do this is today.  Two weeks of traveling by foot has lead up to this day.

Please pray for the people that are on this journey.  Pray that this journey leads them to a relationship with Christ!  Pray for Christians to share the Gospel with them today!
