Dusshera

Today is a Hindu holiday called Dussehra or Dusshera. It takes place during Durga Puja. This holiday has not been celebrated as usual this year because of the Commonwealth Games. They have not been allowed to have big celebrations for this holiday because of the Governmental regulations during the games. Dusshera (a part of Durga Puja) takes place today. It's a holiday that has a long history that is based on the stories from the Ramayana. The festival basically celebrates the triumph of good over evil and the death of the demon king Ravana. To celebrate this, there is a big festival and burn effigies of this demon king.
.
Pray for the people celebrating this holiday today that they will come to know the one who is truly good!
.
"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight."
Isaiah 5:20-21
